Little Bit of Trouble Going to Chicago
My buddy Lorne and I took a trip from our hometown in Jonesboro to the Joliet last weekend, and we got ourselves in some trouble. We drove through Peoria and Champaign on our way there, and we stopped to see some friends in both places. We invited them to come with us and do some gambling at the Casino, but they declined.
Our friends had the right idea for sure, but we love gambling (well we did then - read on), and we just had to play some craps, roulette and blackjack. After we left our buddies, we had some car trouble near Pontiac when my radiator decided to retire. Of course we were very disappointed to have our trip go off the rails like that, but regardless, we were really excited to be out on the road and away from work. I should point out, that this short story is a cautionary one, and hopefully others can learn from our mistakes - not that most people ever really change their behaviour because of someone else's mistakes. So there we were - stuck in Pontiac and forced to spend half of our play money on repairs. It was a bad start to a trip we had been talking about taking for over six months. Between Lorne and I, we had a total of three thousand dollars when we cashed our paychecks in Zeigler, and by the time we finished paying for the radiator, labor, our bar tab, food, and hotel, we were down to just over two thousand dollars.
Both of us needed to freshen up before we went to the Casino, so we just grabbed our keys for the room and went upstairs to crash.
By the end of the day Lorne and I had lost ALL of our money gambling, and Lorne had even gone to the ATM and withdrew another five hundred dollars, leaving us feeling like real losers. Talk about your instant deflation of self-esteem.
We went back to our hotel room, silently watched television, and rarely spoke - except to remind ourselves that we had no gas in the tank of the car.
We finally fell asleep at around four in the morning and when we woke up we were hung over, and broke. We checked out of our hotel room at the latest possible check out time, and slowly walked out to the parking lot, queasy and uneasy. We were not alone of course - there were other losers walking around with the same look on their faces.
All I could think about was how we were going to get some gas in the tank for the drive back down south.
It was obviously the only recourse we had left at this point, so we looked in a nearby phone booth directory to find out where all the payday loan shops were in Peoria. We found one that was on our way back south, and looked it up on the map. One that was more well known. Preferably we needed a lender that advertised five hundred dollar loans in just minutes.
So we headed down the highway running on fumes stopping to share a Mcdonalds Egg McMuffin with our last two dollars.
We both watched the gas gauge closely as we drove, praying we would have enough fuel to get us to the loan shop and praying we would have enough fuel to get us to a gas station after we picked up the cash. We were in pretty pathetic shape at the time - you know - young and stupid. We ended up getting completely lost for awhile, but eventually found a town, and the street that the payday loan shops were on. When we went to work the next Monday all of our buddies asked us how we did up North in the Casino. We told the truth, which made us the butt of the jokes for the entire week. The whole experience was humiliating and left me feeling like a total fool. Furthermore, we were really broke.
I still think about all of the things we could have used that three thousand dollars for.
If you have never had the chance to drive up to Northern Illinois for a trip, I have a funny story to tell you.
Soon after we left there my vehicle started making some wierd noises near Pontiac when my radiator grinded to a halt. This was a major bummer for sure and put a small damper on our mood, but regardless, it was a beautiful day and we were just glad to be out of the daily grind.I should point out, that this ridiculous yarn is not an exaggeration, and wouldn't it be great if other kids who think gambling is fun will reconsider - not that anyone most young people will every take our advice not that readers will take anything away from this story. It was not exactly what we had planned for when we were cooking up our trip plans. Between Lorne and I, we thought we had much more than enough money for gambling, hotel, food, and drinks in Zeigler, and when the smoke finally cleared we paid off the mechanics for the radiator, labor, our bar tab, food, and hotel, we were down to just over $2000 dollars.
When we did get to the Casino we weren't exactly as excited as we had envisioned we would be when we were dreaming up the trip back two months prior.
Both of us needed to freshen up before we bothered to go down to the Casino, so we just grabbed our keys for the room and went upstairs to crash. We were dire need of some personal hygiene before we began gambling. I couldn't help but notice then when I struck it lucky and was dealt a ten and a ten, the dealer pulled a 21. If was ever dared to split my deal, the dealer managed to pull off a total fluke, 21, or 20 - I was disgusted at how bad my cards were. I couldn't believe how lucky the dealer was getting! It was clear that the house had a plan to empty my wallet!
By dinner time Lorne and I had somehow been stupid enough to waste all of our money, leaving us stupified and fried. When we were driving away from the Casino you should have seen us play like we were immune to the defeat, deep inside we were both feeling sick about it.Talk about a bruised ego.
We went back to our hotel room, pounded back a bottle of gin, avoided talking to each other - save for the weak attempt at taking our minds of what just happened. We finally fell asleep at around four in the morning and when we woke up we were hung over, and broke. We couldn't help but notice we weren't alone - there were some sad cases nearby that looked grey and graveled with the same demeanor.
Pretty funny - as we sat their looking into space from inside the rust-bucket while Mark hunted in the center console hunting for a cigerette.
Just as I was ready to make my idea(s) know to him, Mark found his last paycheck slip under the seat. His big idea involved using his pay stub to get a quick loan from short-term loan offices so we could pump some gas into the fuel tank and hit the road
It was obviously the only recourse we had left at this point, so we looked in a nearby phone booth directory to find out where all the personal loan shops were in Chicago. We had to find a lender that was quite nearby. One that was more well known. We needed a company that claimed to provide 500 dollar loans in just minutes.
We decided to get going on our way stopping to share a breakfast with our last two bucks.
We must have looked like a couple of dumb asses - you know - young and stupid. We were confused with our directions a little bit, but we finally found ourselves in a downtown corridor where the small loan branches were on. I was very surprised at the amount. When we are back down South, and in the work place again enquiring minds wanted a full account of our adventure in Chicago in the Casino. We faced the full on laughter of everyone on our shift. Furthermore, we were really broke. We usually chose to never talk about that trip - unless we're drunk.

Looking for a Payday Loan in Texas?
The whole idea of getting a Payday loan is to get approved fast, and get the money in your account fast. If you live in Texas the rule is still the same.
However, please try and avoid using any cash advance companies if at all possible. It just isn't worth getting caught up in the Payday Loan addiction and cycle of abuse.

Tractor From Kubota
There are a number of products that maybe, just maybe, are gaining traction but for me Kubota are still the number one.
I purchased the three cylinder, diesel Kubota B7001 compact second hand and I have to say, just like the ones we hired in, it does everything it says on the tin.
I have just rotovated an area of ground that has been used as a infill for a while so it had it's fair share of stone, brick, some plastic and wood yet the Kubota handled it with ease.
Not only did it rotovate in low third gear without power loss but it managed to deal with a very steep incline (as seen in the picture), although I did have to use the four wheel drive and differential lock to keep good traction.

On the back I have an Agric ALJ35 98cm wide rotovator which makes easy work of the firm soil and chops it up finely.
A little note of interest if you are planning to hire in a tractor/rotovator combination to prepare a new lawn, clean up a vegetable patch or prepare some newly levelled top soil.
Use low first gear to chop up the ground. This will help to create a workable top to start with. After you have prepared the top surface, changed to third low gear. The extra speed will allow the unit to act like a leveller-grading machine.

Christian Financing - Debt Consolidation
While the most important things to consider before you even look into getting your debts consolidated is where you plan to look for your debt relief. There are many different companies online and off-line who provide some form of debt relief so looking for just a lender in the Christian community may not be feasible thing to do.
You may want to look for a Christian debt relief loan by talking to one of the local credit unions in your area or by talking to somebody at your church, or why not just try praying - I have always found that if you take the time to meditate and pray you're prayers are soon answered in one way or the other. You might consider some of the $5000 loans which are available to Christian faith-based consumers.

Oz Blog Network - A Splogger's Dream
Ever heard of the Oz Blog Network? The Oz Blog Network boasts free autoblogging and rewriting tools. This is a splogger’s dream as they’ve even fixed the Wp-O-Matic duplicate posting problems and issues.
They rewrote the Wp-O-Matic script to fix the double post problem, and at the same time wrote a rewriter that makes READABLE content from Rss and Atom feeds. Once again the sploggers have found a new way to reuse other people’s work.
When will this gross trend end!!!!!!!!!!!

Watstat Site Like Wikipedia
You can see there are allot of other webmasters who are trying to build their own Wiki sites these days. My favorite Wiki platform is DokuWiki, and there are others using exactly the same software as Wikipedia.
A good example is this site, called Watstat. They use the Wikipedia software platform for their site. Interesting to me anyway.
I think Watstat is supposed to mean “What’s That?” Hmmm…

Canadian HELOC Interest Rates
Canadian banks, like all American banks, are eager to provide home equity line of credit financing. There is no risk to the banks in Canada, and they make nothing but money with their interest rates.
Canadian HELOC rates have been staying pretty low at the variable home equity loan rate and the fixed HELOC rate. You must shop around a little to ensure you don't get hosed with a bad rate. Found a good article on Canadian HELOC interest rates over at Zulit.com. Goes into depth on HELOC in Canada and what borrowers can expect with a home equity loan.

Guaranteed Student Loans in New Mexico?
Letely, I’ve been listening to a bunch of noise regarding students looking for a guaranteed student Loan program in New Mexico. Finding a guarantee is a pretty tough call you know. I would think that there are not that many banks in New Mexico that provide for such a deal.
Why this is a hard loan to find in New Mexico? Simple. The banks are really tightening up on giving bad student loans, and the Feds have weighed in with some new rules on lending practises.
Provided here is a site that gives guarantees student loans in New Mexico. This is what the do: If for some reason you don’t find the student loan you need, you get your money back for their service. It doesn’t cost allot anyway, but at least you can check it out for yourself.
Happy trails!

Retirement Calculators For Those That Can't Spell
Got a kick out of this little ditty over at Lazerloan.com. Do you think he spelled retirement wrong on purpose. Retirment. Who knows…might work for them. Hmmm.
Retirment calculators are a very popular piece of scripting online. Millions of Americans are using these online calculators to figure out what they’ll have left in the bank when they’re approaching the golden years.
Loanallot.com has made their opinion crystal clear as to what retirement calculator they recommend. Here is their snippet below. (I get a kick out
of their web site theme……Lancelot/Loanallot…..now that is CHEESE my friends.
I did a little research on retirement calculators, and I have to give the edge to this retirement calculator in particular. This is the CNN retirement calculator.
Here are the instructions they give for using their calculator:
“Our retirement planner helps you estimate how well your savings program is preparing you for retirement. First we help you figure out how much you'll need. Then we tell you your chances of getting there. And if it looks like you'll fall short, we offer some suggestions for improving your plan.”
Have fun playing with that for awhile. I learned one thing for sure, and that’s that I need to start saving some money in better places if I hope to retire with a pot to piss in.

One Million Dollar Ding For Bad Credit?
Found this interesting on Yahoo!. An article that claims consumers can lose up to $1,000,000 over their life-time if they have bad credit. They have some numbers to back up the claim to. It’s really just simple math.
Here is a short quote from their full article, that covers just the mortgage side of a bad credit loss over time.
- You probably are well aware that a poor credit score costs you money, but you probably are not aware how much that can add up to over time -- sometimes well over $1 million.
- For people with poor credit, the additional money they'll pay for things like mortgages, car loans and insurance, compared with what those with solid credit pay, can be in the mid-six figures over a 30-year period. Invest it wisely, and that number could soar to more than $1 million.
- Here is how poor credit costs you in more ways than you imagined:
- Mortgage: One obvious place that poor credit hurts you is the interest rate you must pay when you purchase a house. The average price for a home in June 2007 was $316,200.
- According to MyFico, a 30-year, $300,000 loan for someone with a credit score of between 760 and 850 carried a 6.346% APR. Someone with a credit score of between 500 and 579 would have a 10.152% APR. That would mean that a person with a good score would have a monthly payment of $1,866, while the person with the poor credit score would pay $2,666 -- or $800 a month more for the same house. That adds up to $288,000 over the 30 years of the loan.
Pretty scary thought right. Losing that kind of coin over time. I just got my credit rating back after being bankrupt for 7 years, so I won’t be taking any toy loans for a long while.

Loans For Bridesmaid Dresses?
I had the most unusual email the other day. I had someone ask if we could point them in the direction of a site that gave loans for wedding dresses, in particular a loan for a bridesmaid dress order.
I told them that we didn’t find people loans for wedding dresses, and bridesmaid dresses – that we could help her with a car or motorhome, student loan, car loan, and/or motorcycle loan, but not wedding dresses.
I suggested they use Google and find what they needed there for wedding keywords.
Hmmmm…..what next?
Searching for Debt Consolidation Companies
You want to be thorough when you ou are out there looking for a good debt consolidation company to help solve your financial woes.
Make sure they're on the up and up. Make sure you are dealing with trustees, or financiers, that have a long and solid track record, before you sign ANY of their contracts.
If you're self-employed you will most likely have to use your home for collateral, since the banks prefer people who have steady, well paying jobs over entrepreneurs.
There are other companies that will help you manage your debt without having to use another loan. These companies usually charge you a fee and then help negotiate lower interest rates with your creditors and manage your monthly payments. There are various ways to do this and every company is different. Usually these techniques will save you money to start paying down the principle on your credit balances.
A few of these outfits are "sometimes" worth the monthly fee, and you'll end up saving way more than they charge you overall. However, some of these trustees are a little slimy, and they're out to make money by holding their client's cash for collecting interest as long as they can before they make the payment on your behalf. Very slimy indeed.
If you need to consolidate credit card debts, or any other kind of debt for that matter, it can be a real puzzle trying to sift through all the manure online. You may be able to qualify for an unsecured loan, which can consolidate your debt with one monthly payment, and never have to use any hard collateral.

United States Plus Student Loans
The Plus Student loan, and the advantage for parents and students in the United States.
This is a quick description of what a Plus Student Loan is all about. This is the most popular way to get funding for your education.
Administered by the college or university your child attends, the OSL PLUS Loan is one of the most competitive PLUS Loan products currently offered in the U.S.
PLUS loans are not need-based; however, the parent just needs to meet minimal credit requirements to qualify. Unlike other Federal student loans, repayment of the parent PLUS loan is the responsibility of the parent, not the student.
The Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students, or PLUS loan, is a federally-backed loan that enables parents to borrow funds to cover your child's (or children's) cost of attending college, less any financial aid.
A PLUS Loan is more flexible, and less expensive than Conventional Consumer Loans.
Many parents opt to take out a parents PLUS Loan because it offers many advantages over other forms of consumer loans such as a home equity loan or line of credit, credit cards, bank loans, or other private loans.
